Assessment 3: Oral Presentation (8 minutes video, 40% weight)

Task description:

Prepare and deliver an 8-minute oral presentation advocating for children’s rights and the public good in a particular context of your choice. Include reference to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other relevant literature in your presentation. Please prepare a

PowerPoint presentation slides and script. Students are required to do a recording of their presentation and submit this with their PowerPoint and script.

Criteria:

  • Choose a context of advocacy for children’s rights, explain the context (can be a specific issue or place), focus on early childhood education (ECE)
  • Choose two – three children’s rights to advocate, relevant to the context of ECE you choose
  • Explain each children’s rights related to contextualised issues, using relevant empirical evidence from literature
  • Provide recommendations to accommodate and support children’s rights, focus on the contextualised issues
  • Use relevant academic readings (including the set text) to support your presentation, references should be included in the presentation.
  • The presentation should be recorded, with a link to the recorded presentation included in the presentation slides and submitted along with the script.

 

Duration: 8 minutes presentation (in recorded video)
