All submissions must be submitted with assigned Ozford Institute of Higher Education Cover Sheet via Moodle. Late submissions will attract a penalty of 5% of the assessment weighting for each calendar day late unless the lecturer grants an extension.
The group assignment enables students to demonstrate their presentation skills and their ability to conduct group projects as an interpersonal communication skill.
Requirements
- Form a group of three students and select a company from this list of Australian industries:
- Agriculture Industry
- Broad casting and recorded entertainment industry
- House Construction industry
- Indigenous organizations and services industry
- Transportation industry
- Email the lecturer to inform your group membership, the company your group selected and the company’s industry.
- Each student takes on a C-Suite role to inform the CEO and stakeholders about the consequences of Artificial Intelligence in your company from the perspectives of Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources and, IT and Security.
- As a corporate strategy,
- Compare two practices and behaviours that will forever be discarded,
- Describe one change that will continue and,
- Analyse the‘new normal’for your organisational functions.
You will undertake sufficient research to gain a broad understanding of the business operation, and all issues and potential solutions associated with the consequences of Artificial Intelligence.
- Summarise your research findings and a possible“Call to Action”for the company’s CEO and stakeholders. Your group’s research findings are to be submitted as a PowerPoint presentation (15-20 slides) suitable for a 20-minute time limit. This suggests that each student contributes 5 minutes and 3 or 4 slides each.
- You will present your findings and recommendations in aboard room setting. This means that one group member will chair the meeting.Everygroup member will practice meeting etiquette and format. The result of this board meeting informed through the meeting agenda and minutes,a recording of the board meeting,the presentation slides used,and the group charter will be submitted as part of Assessment 2.
- Sources of information must be consulted and cited. Each corporate strategy must be supported by at least ONE peer-reviewed article OR the textbooks. This suggests FOUR references per student.Use the Australian Harvard style of referencing for in-slide citations aswellasareferencelistonthelastslidewithsourcesorganisedalphabetically.TheStyle Manual can be found at https://www.stylemanual. gov.au/referencing-and- attribution/author-date
- All group members are expected to contribute equally to the research process and the creation and delivery of the presentation. You will be assessed on the quality of your research, the effectiveness of the Power Point, whether you achieved your objectives, how well you communicated your findings (both your verbal and non-verbal delivery techniques), your presentation strategies and the contribution of all group members. The Group Charter will be used to gauge compliance and contributions.
- All groups must conduct the boardroom meeting by Week 6.

- Agenda and minutes of the board meeting. This includes a “Call to Action” to recommend to the CEO and stakeholders
- A recording of the board meeting as a YouTube URL link copied into the cover of the group’s presentation slides.

- The Group Charter
Each presentation should consist of the following components:
- Introduction &cover
- Main body – The main body should address the requirements for each case company separately.
- Conclusion
- Reference List –All references cited in the main body must be included in the reference list. References from Wikipedia should not be used.
Group Presentation Guidelines
- Prepare a 15 to20-slide PowerPoint presentation.
Submission of your Boardroom minutes, PowerPoint presentation and the Group Charter is online through Moodle. Please click on the relevant assessment submission link and Moodle will guide you through the submission process.
Your presentation must be in an MS Power Point format(.pptx).The boardroom minutes and the Group Charter as an MS Word (.doc or .docx) document. Submission will be subject to checks by Turnitin. Please spell-check and proofread your assessment before submission. This is a professional approach to your assessment submission. Academic integrity is important.
Group assignment instructions and group charter
- Each group will consist of a maximum off our students.
- Only ONE student in the group submits the documents. Ensure the name and student number of each person in the group is attributed. The completed Group Charter is submitted as an MS Word document (.doc or .docx) with their presentation.
- Problems with inactive group members who do not respond to reasonable work arrangements should be discussed with the lecturer well before the due date of the presentation.
