Overview

Task description

This assessment item requires students to select one of two options. Option A: students without significant HSE experience can choose to map their level of career progression against attributes and set goals for continuous improvement, identifying both their strengths and areas for further development. Option B: students with significant HSE experience can choose to complete a critically reflective assignment involving evaluation and analysis of scope of practice over time with reference to milestones, issues and challenges, context change and professional standards.

Length

Length (both options): Up to 2000 words maximum (no +10% – tables, diagrams, in-text references and headings are included), including a 1-page A4 table. The reference list and appendix are excluded.  A video recording of 6 to 7 minutes long will also be submitted.

3. Critically analyse a range of management tools, processes and strategies and their use in various contexts.
4. Apply knowledge of management and self-management principles in an ethical manner to environmental health / occupational health and safety (OHS) / health safety and environment (HSE) practice.
5. Recognise and build on one's own strengths and leadership style and skills to maximise effectiveness.
6. Apply communication techniques to engage others and self-assess effectiveness of communication skills in a safe environment.
