Project Management–Assessment 3

Student instructions:

• This is a group assessment (four students per group).
• This assessment consists of one essay. Total 25 marks for this assessment.
• Your answer must be submitted to MOODLE as a Microsoft word document.
• Weighting= 40% of your overall grade for this subject.
• Deadline for submission: 11.59pm (Sydney time) on Tuesday 11th November 2025.

Choose a renowned failed project from the List of Failed Projects file on the Course Moodle Page.

Describe the selected project and analyse the losses incurred by the project.

Examine the concrete reasons for the selected project’s failure and propose alternative solutions / recommendations that are underpinned by supporting evidence.

Students will be expected to utilise project management models, theories and concepts throughout their assignment and include diagrams, tables, charts and graphs to illustrate their answers.

Please note: This assessment must be in an essay format and 2,000 words minimum to 2,500 words maximum.
