In this day and age, most company leaders would argue that it is desirable to build an inclusive workforce, i.e. one that allows a firm to leverage the potential of its diverse employees and thereby enhance the company’s performance. Based on your knowledge of workplace diversity management covered in class, you decide that the leaders of a firm you work at need to address the two major challenges of diversity management.

Many different forms of discrimination exist in the world. Many of these actions are prohibited by law, yet there are still cases of employment discrimination being documented every year. Discriminatory policies and practices, such as intimidation or exclusion of employees, should not be allowed to become part of a company’s culture.

Assume you are the manager of a firm that is suffering from low productivity resulting from a dispute between management and the workforce over a proposal to stagger lunch breaks across different departments.
