BUSN9115 assignment--“Data Analysis Assignment# 1”

You are provided with an Excel file entitled “BUSN9115 assignment data”, which is available in Canvas now. The data are about salaries of a SAMPLE of employees in a big company in Australia. The main variables include: “Year”, “Gender”, and “Salary”.

For this assignment, you need to apply what have  you learnt in Workshops 1–3 of “BUSN9115 Analysing Business Data” and write a report about your findings after analysing the sample data. It is up to you to decide what should be included in your report, but you may want to consider all or part of the following analyses:

Descriptive Statistics – measures of location, variability, and shape (you might want to consider measures such as mean, mode, median, percentiles ,range, inter quartile ranges, standard deviation, variance, histograms, frequency tables, etc.) [75% of your assignment mark]

Please note that the finished assignment should be presented as are port with the appropriate measures selected. The assignment must be clearly written; any diagrams, charts, tables etc. (if any) should be clearly labelled and explained in your text and any equations defined and explained. Apart from the statistical analysis, you will also be graded based on the quality of your writing [25%of your assignment mark].Your arguments and the clarity with which you explain and illustrate there levant findings are very important. The prepared report should start with an introduction section stating the purpose of this data analysis and a conclusion section summarising the main findings of this analysis.
