The aim of this assessment task is to write a business report that investigates and analyses the ethical issues relating to generative AI. To prepare your report, you are required to read and analyse relevant scholarly articles, using contemporary examples, and providing a personal reflection.

 

Background: Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents a cutting-edge technology with transformative potential across various domains, including robotics, art, and content creation. However, with this potential comes a host of ethical considerations that warrant careful examination. In this assignment, you will delve into the ethical dimensions of generative AI, focusing on its implications for businesses and society.

Your task is to write a comprehensive business report that investigates and analyses the ethical issues surrounding generative AI. You will draw insights from the above two articles and any relevant scholarly articles, business/practitioner magazines and articles, your lecture notes and materials and class discussion, to address the following questions:

 

  1. What are the long-term societal risks and benefits of integrating AI into critical sectors such as healthcare and finance?
  2. How might the widespread adoption of AI impact employment and the future of work? Discuss the potential for job displacement and creation of new job opportunities from advancements in the use of AI.
  3. What are the ethical implications of using generative AI in business decision-making processes?
  4. Provide a personal reflection on the following statement "Generative AI will revolutionise industries, reshape societal norms and transform personal life." Share your personal insights and predictions for the future of ethical generative AI.

Assessment of report

 

The research-based report represents 20% of your total mark for ACCG8022. Your assignment will be marked out of 20, as shown in the Report Marking Rubric on page 5 and 6 of this document.

The writtenreport must be submitted in electronic form using Turnitin (through iLearn via the ‘Report Submission link” under the Assessments section).

A hardcopy submission is not required.

Due: Friday, 6 September 2024, 11.55 pm

 

Unless a Special Consideration request has been submitted and approved, a 5% penalty (of the total possible mark) will be applied each day a writtenassessment is not submitted, up until the7th day (including weekends). After the 7th day, a grade of '0' will be awardedeven if the assessment is submitted. Submission time for all written assessments is set at 11:55 pm. A 1-hourgrace period is provided to

students who experience a technical concern.
