Submission Details:

  • Watch the CBC Marketplace episode “Tracking Amazon Returns: Here’s Where They Really Go” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1yqcagavfY).  Based on the episode, prepare an analysis of between a minimum 750 and a maximum of 1 500 words (minimum 12 point font) of the ethical situation facing Amazon.  Your typed assessment is to demonstrate how Amazon, and society in general, are being impacted by this situation as it relates to the content covered in Chapter 3 (Ethics and Social Responsibility).  Specifically, explain as part of your analysis how this situation relates to the Shareholder/Stakeholder model, an organization’s social responsibility level, and the Triple Bottom Line, along with any additional concepts you feel are important.  Furthermore, you are to explain how Amazon has responded to and is addressing the return issue based on the Responses to Demands for Social Responsibility.  Lastly, explain how this ethical situation may impact Amazon, and other companies going forward.  Support your analysis through identifying specific facts and examples included in the episode.
